Quick answer
Students can use this page to reach AMU entrance-paper resources for Classes 6, 9 and 11. AMU’s official websites currently provide admission guides, syllabi, answer keys, results and some school annual-examination papers, but they do not present one clearly organised official archive containing every past entrance paper for every class and year. Therefore, every Education Adda resource below is labelled by type, and original practice PDFs are not described as official AMU PYQs.
First choose the correct type of AMU question paper
The phrase AMU question paper can refer to three different resources. A Class 9 admission aspirant needs an entrance paper, while an existing AMU school student may need an annual-examination paper. University students may be searching for a departmental semester paper. These are not interchangeable.
| Student’s purpose | Correct resource | Where to go |
|---|---|---|
| Admission to AMU Class 6, 9 or 11 | Entrance/admission-test PYQs, sample papers, syllabus and official answer keys | Use the class-wise Education Adda hubs below and verify the latest pattern on AMU Controller Exams. |
| Already studying in an AMU school | Annual, model or board-examination papers | Use official AMU school old-question-paper pages. |
| AMU undergraduate, postgraduate or research programme | Semester, departmental or course-specific papers | Check the relevant AMU department page; availability differs by department. |
| Checking answers after a recent AMU admission test | Official provisional answer key and discrepancy decision | Use the official AMU answer-key pages rather than a coaching-site key. |

Understand the PDF labels before downloading
| Label | What it means | Best use |
|---|---|---|
| Official AMU document | Published on an official AMU or AMU Controller Exams domain. | Confirm the latest syllabus, test structure, answer key, result or admission rule. |
| Actual previous year paper / PYQ | A paper represented as having been used in a past AMU admission test. Its year, class and stream should be verifiable. | Understand real question framing, difficulty and recurring topics. |
| Original practice paper | A new paper created for preparation according to the current syllabus or pattern. It is not an official past AMU paper. | Weekly practice, timed tests and weak-topic revision. |
| Sample or model paper | A representative paper designed around an expected or official pattern. | Learn the format before attempting full PYQs. |
| Official answer key | The key displayed by AMU after an admission test, including revised decisions where applicable. | Check answers and follow the official discrepancy process. |
Latest verified AMU entrance-paper patterns
Past papers should always be compared with the current admission guide. A paper from 2017 or 2019 may still help with question style, but the marks distribution, selection process or syllabus can change.

How to use AMU papers from 2015, 2017, 2018, 2019 and recent years
Older AMU papers remain useful for concept practice, but they should not automatically be treated as the current exam blueprint. Use each year for a specific purpose:
| Paper age | Best use | What to verify first |
|---|---|---|
| Most recent available papers | Understand the closest available question style and difficulty level. | Current syllabus, section weights, test duration and official answer-key rules. |
| 2018–2019 papers | Practise recurring concepts and compare how questions were framed. | Whether the current subjects and marks distribution still match. |
| 2015–2017 papers | Build a larger question bank after the current syllabus is complete. | Remove questions from discontinued or changed topics. |
| Unverified scans without year/class details | Do not use as a primary preparation source. | File origin, class, stream, completeness and answer-key accuracy. |
A student does not need to solve every downloadable file. Five carefully analysed papers are more useful than twenty PDFs that are downloaded but never attempted.
How to solve an AMU previous year paper properly
- Confirm the paper identity. Check the class, stream, year, language and whether the file is an actual PYQ or an original practice paper.
- Compare it with the latest official pattern. Remove outdated assumptions before starting.
- Attempt it in one sitting. Use the applicable time limit, avoid checking answers during the test and practise OMR-style marking where relevant.
- Check with a reliable answer key. Prefer the official key for a recent test. For older papers, use a reviewed solution and flag doubtful questions.
- Create an error log. Record the subject, mistake type, reason and revision action for every wrong answer.
- Retest weak questions. Attempt the incorrect questions again after 48 hours and re-solve the complete paper after 7–10 days.
Simple AMU PYQ error-log format
| Question | Subject | Mistake type | Reason | Next action |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Q12 | Mathematics | Calculation | Rushed the final step | Practise 15 similar questions |
| Q31 | Science | Concept | Chapter not revised | Read the NCERT concept and retest |
| Q67 | English | Grammar rule | Confused two options | Create a one-page rule note |
| Q90 | Indo-Islamic Culture | Recall | Fact not retained | Add it to spaced-revision cards |

Safe and trustworthy PDF-download checklist
- Prefer official AMU links for current rules, syllabus, results and answer keys.
- Check that a third-party PDF clearly states the class, stream and year.
- Do not assume a file is official merely because the filename contains “AMU”.
- Avoid pages that force unrelated app installs, browser notifications or suspicious file extensions.
- Use only legally shared, original, official or properly licensed papers.
- Keep original practice papers clearly labelled so students are not misled.

Frequently asked questions
Where can students download AMU previous year question papers?
Students can begin with the Education Adda class-wise hubs for Classes 6, 9 and 11, then use AMU Controller Exams to confirm the current syllabus, pattern and official answer keys. Every PDF should be checked for class, stream, year and source before use.
Does AMU provide one official archive of all entrance question papers?
No single clearly organised official page containing every Class 6, 9 and 11 entrance paper for every year was located during the 31 July 2026 review. Official AMU sources do provide admission guides, syllabi, answer keys, results and some school annual-examination archives.
Are AMU school annual papers the same as AMU entrance papers?
No. Annual or board papers are used for students already studying in an AMU school. Entrance or admission-test papers are used for admission to a class or programme. Students should select the resource that matches their exact purpose.
Is an AMU sample paper an actual previous year paper?
Not necessarily. A sample paper is usually created to represent the expected or current pattern, while an actual PYQ is a paper used in a past examination. Education Adda’s original practice resources should remain labelled as practice papers, not official AMU papers.
Can a 2019 AMU question paper still help in 2026 preparation?
Yes, it can help with recurring concepts, question framing and speed. However, students must compare it with the latest official admission guide because the subjects, marks distribution, selection process or syllabus may have changed.
Which papers should a Class 11 student solve?
Science candidates should use Science-stream papers and practice sets. Humanities and Commerce candidates should use the combined Humanities/Commerce pattern where applicable. Students should not use a Science paper as the main mock test for Humanities or Commerce preparation.
Are previous year papers enough for AMU entrance preparation?
No. PYQs should be combined with the current syllabus, NCERT-level concept revision, original practice papers, OMR practice, reliable answer keys and an error-log routine. Papers diagnose preparation; they do not replace syllabus study.
Where should students check the official AMU answer key?
Use the AMU Controller Exams answer-key page and the separate page for decisions on answer-key discrepancies. For recent admission tests, these official sources take priority over coaching-site solutions.
